Kazhi

Kazhi geog is located in the northeastern part of the Dzongkhag. The altitude ranges from 2200 to 5000 meters above sea level. The topography of the geog is predominantly rugged, with pockets of gentle slopes in the north eastern side. The river Bey Chu runs alongside the geog’s eastern border draining it into the Tsang Chu. The geog is also famous for its Sha Ema (chilies). Kazhi is made up of 10 villages (Kazhi, Dhakting, Komathang, Guenthay, Chagee, Lenbay, Sing, Belpa, Newlee and Beldrok) and consists of 210 no. of households. Kazhi consists of an estimated area of 622.40 sq km. The Beldrok region is considered to be the most remote region in Wangdue and consists of a migratory population. There is 1 community primary school in Kazhi, 1 AEC, 1 Gup’s office construction under process, ha Slate mine and currently the construction of a farm road from Aythog Nyelsa to Sinmo Norbu is in process. The famous site of pilgrimage Baed Langdra (Guru Rinpoche’s Ney) is also located in Kazhi geog.
