Phangyul geog is also one of the smallest geogs in the region. Phangyul is made up of 7 villages (Phangyul, Khomche, Goengkhar, Shonguen, Shongsaykhar, Domkhar and Ambaykhar) and consists of 176 no. of households. Phangyul consists of an estimated area of 32.70 sq km. The terrain consists mainly of gentle sloping areas, with an altitude ranging from 1200 to 3000 meter above sea level. The Rakey Zam to Goenkhar feeder road has greatly improved accessibility. The 2 important temples _ Chungdu Goenpa and Dagay Gompa- serve as important religious institutions to the community. There is 1 community primary school (Phuensum Deki CPS) and there is a geog center pilot project taking place, funded by the World Bank (inc. the RNR Center, Gup’s office and staff quarters).
