The Dzongkhag Health Sector under Dzongkhag Administration, Wangdue Phodrang would like to inform all our valued viewers that International World TB Day observed every year on 24 March, will be observed this year at Bajo Higher Secondary School on 24th March 2017 at 9 am.

The theme for this year will be “Unite to End TB”, with special focus on uniting efforts to “Leave No One Behind” that will include actions to address stigma, discrimination, and marginalization to overcome barriers to access health care.  This is important so as to achieve the target of ending TB by 2030 as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals besides strategy of World Health Organization in ending TB.

Here in Wangdue Phodrang, the Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Health will be the chief guest to be attended by local government functionaries from 15 Gewogs,  health professionals, sectoral heads, regional heads, and business community.


This day is important to the public of Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag given its huge population in 15 Gewogs and also more than thousands of foreign employees working in two mega hydroelectric power project ( PHPA I and II) where  risks of getting TB and incidences are high.
