Monsoon Flood Disaster Relief

The Dzongkhag Administration Wangdue distributed thirty six numbers of UNICEF Emergency Kit bags to the households affected by the heavy rainfall from May 25-26, 2009. The distribution of the kit bags began on May 30, 2009 and ended on June 2, 2009. Each UNICEF kit bags contains three blankets, two pots, two ladles, four plates, four mugs, four spoons, one jerry can and one jug. The kit bags were distributed as per the number of dependents in the households. The recipients were from Wangdue, Samtse, Gelephu, Tsirang, Chhukha, Pema Gatshel, Lhuntse Dzongkhags and West Bengal and Bihar States of India.
The Dzongkhag is still receiving news of damages from the gewogs.
