The Dzongkhag Annual Tshechu |

The annual tshechu of Wangdue Dzongkhag started on 26th September, 2009 coinciding with 8th day of the 8th month of the Bhutanese calendar. During the three days programme the monks and the Dzongkhag mask dancers performed different mask dances to the public. During the Raksha Mang cham hundreds of people gathered to receive blessing from Shingjay Choegigab. Guru Tshengye also attracted hundreds of people from all walks of life to receive the blessing. The annual tshechu of Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag ended with unfurling of Guru tshengye thongdroel on 28th September, 2009. People from all walks of life gathered at the dzong courtyard at 5:00 am to receive the blessing. The thongdroel is displayed every year during the last day of Tshechu for the well being of all sentient being. |
