The school was established in the year 2003 with the funding from RGOB. Owing to the difficulties of sending students to either Kazhi PS or Samtengang LSS, the villagers of Phangyul requested for additional school as there were enough students for opening of a primary school. Currently the school has 91 students with 6 teachers and 1 caretaker.
