The Dzongkhag Agri Sector and the Agriculture Research and Development Centre, Bajo with voluntary technical assistance from the Kochi University, Japan are working together to try out the construction of lining farm ponds with bentonite in Phangyul Gewog under Wangdue Dzongkhag. The purpose of the trial is to test the effectiveness of BENTONITE as lining material to store all-season water storage and scaling up further to create artificial lakes in near future as next partnership programme for areas in dzongkhag with water scarcity.
