The Extended Classroom (ECR) facility at Matalongchu, Thedtsho Gewog, Wangdue Phodrang, built at a cost of 1.800 million was formally inaugurated by Wangdue Phodrang Dzongda this morning. Till now, due to lack of infrastructural facility, the ECR used to be housed at the village lhakhang’s ground floor. This ECR has 30 children from Bajo Thango, Wongjukha, Samthang besides Matalongchu village. Further, the facility would now also benefit the children from Omteykha village under Punakha.Based on the number of children, the Dzongkhag also has plans to extend facilities for ECCD in the same building.
